MICROSENS web site MICROSENS S.A.

MICROSENS S.A. is a Swiss company founded in 1990 as a spin off of the CSEM (Centre Suisse d'Electronique et de Microtechnique S.A.)

The purpose of MICROSENS is to apply the latest technology to manufacture industrially intelligent silicon sensors. The generic technology concept of the products is based on the use of microelectronic compatible processes for the miniaturisation of sensing modules for the detection of specific chemical species in gases or liquids. Application specific chemical analysis functions are implemented together with the sensing element using standard or specific integrated electronic circuits.

With the experience of more than eight years in research and development, the team of scientists at MICROSENS has been developing integrated sensors and applications in the following directions :

  • Integrated gas sensors for the detection of toxic or explosive gases, as well as for industrial process monitoring, environmental control and multi-sensing purposes.
  • Integrated chemical sensors including Ion Sensitive Field Effect Transistor (ISFET) for pH and specific ion concentration measurements. Amperometric sensors for the detection of chlorine in water.
  • Silicon microstructures incorporating miniaturised sensor geometry, micro-cavities and membranes used for chemical and physical sensors, actuators and microsystems.
  • Microsystems with signal conditioning and compensation (i.e. temperature, humidity), programmable data processing and operation modes, stored calibration parameters and standard data exchange bus, for easy set up and in field sensor microsystems maintenance.
